PORTFOLIO
Paintings
My paintings explore the relationship between humans and animals. Each artwork has a definite meaning and implores us to reflect on how our actions and everyday choices affect animals and our natural world.
By using mixed materials such as acrylic paint and gold leaf, I endeavor to emphasize that animals and Mother Nature are the true treasures of our planet. Not gold, silver or jewels.
My inspiration was drawn from seeing the beautiful decorative designs of gold Baroque filigree inside various interiors of museums across Europe and I have developed my very own unique technique to incorporate my interpretation of this look into my paintings.
Sketches
Bare-skinned we come into this world. Natural, pure and without shame. Our skin tells our stories. Every scar, stretch mark and blemish is a testimony of the challenges we’ve faced and physical proof of our will to survive.
Photography
A poem for the earth:
Mother Nature’s tears… They flow as raging rivers, they swell as unprecedented floods. Her cries echo the crashing waves of rising oceans. In agony, she groans at humanity’s careless disregard. She shakes and quakes. Hurricanes, wildfires and lakes of lava. Helplessly her temper rises. She is beaten, broken, stripped bare. Her once lush forests a barren graveyard. Her coral reefs as white as bone. On her knees she pleads. For a shred of kindness and consideration. Since nothing breaks a mother’s heart more, than witnessing the suffering and despair of her children. She cherishes each one. Feathered, scaled, furred, skinned and finned alike. But the children who sadden her most of all… Are the ones who couldn’t care at all.
ABOUT

One of the deciding differences between us and other creatures is that we clothe ourselves. But what happens when we remove these layers of pretence and pomp?
What are we?
We are, scientifically speaking, merely another animal. Homo Sapiens. And we therefore form a part of an amazingly diverse earthling family. The nudity I portray in my paintings endeavours to signify our vulnerability and to bring humans, animals and nature, closer together with no veil to divide our sense of worth or consciousness. That same determination to live and endure resides in all of us. Haired, scaled, shelled and feathered alike.
As humans, we have no greater right to live freely from oppression and persecution than any other of our earthly cousins.
